Welcome to Hagbourne Pre-School!

Admissions

We are able to cater for up to 32 children in any one session.  The staff to children ratio is 1:8 for children over three years and 1:4 for children under three years.  Children can enter pre-school from the age of two years and six months and can continue until starting primary school.

Places are initially allocated to those children in the local catchment area – i.e. those living in the villages of East and West Hagbourne . We then allocate places to those children with siblings currently at Hagbourne School or at pre-school and, if additional sessions are still available, these will be allocated according to proximity of place of residence to Hagbourne Village Hall. We strongly recommend that if you would like your child to attend pre-school, you put their name on the waiting list as soon as possible, but have to advise you that length of time on the list unfortunately does not guarantee your child a place.

We request that children attend at least two sessions per week and that four year olds attend at least three sessions per week, subject to availability. We endorse the recommendation of Ofsted and the Pre-School Learning Alliance that children only attend one pre-school at any one time.

The cost of the sessions is based upon the Government Funded Early Years Education Grant.  Fees are charged if your child attends for more than the funded sessions. Please enquire for separate fee sheet for current charges. We do also accept Childcare Vouchers.

Whenever a child is allocated a place, we ensure it will be regardless of race, religion, language, gender or disability.  In order for us to allocate places, we ask for at least half a term’s notice of your child leaving pre-school.  If you do not provide this notice, you will be liable to pay for that half term in full. Places will only be allocated on provision that the child and parent/s visit pre-school at least once before starting.
